A little over a week after Anime Expo, where I took absolutely zero photos, I went with a group of D.
Gray-Man cosplayers to Soka University in Aliso Viejo. It's a small, but beautiful campus with many
stone walkways and buildings. The whole group finally made it to the location a few hours late so there
was no daylight left by the time we started taking photos. Night photography isn't exactly my specialty,
but since we were here, I gave it a try. It was a challenge to find good spots with enough available light
and incorporating the use of flash, which I seldom use for any cosplay photographs. Because of the
late start time, we didn't take photos very long. It was a good learning experience for me. I don't know
when I'll try night time cosplay photography again, but it was fun to try. I'd definitely love to come back
to this location, hopefully during the daytime when I can really use the architecture and surroundings.
