I heard about MacrossWorld only a few days before the event. It was a free convention held on the UCLA campus. I didn't have
any plans for the weekend so I decided to check it out on the Sunday of the convention. The American dubbed version of the
first Macross series known as "Robotech" was one of the first anime series that I remember watching. It was a very small
convention. The entire convention was held in one large room. On display were lots of memorabilia from every Macross series
and movie. Most of the items on display were donated by attendees. The programming for this day was quite good. Attendees
were treated to a screening of the Macross Frontier movie, a concert by Mari Iijima, a Photoshop workshop by Tommy Yune, a
video game contest, and very small cosplay contest in which there was only one entrant, and other various Macross related
contests. I was actually quite impressed by the content of this small, free convention. It's definitely worth taking a look at if you
are a fan of the Macross series.
