This was the second consecutive year that I've been out to the Chinese New Year festival in Los Angeles' Chinatown.
Even though I really enjoyed this event last year and was interested in seeing more of this neighborhood, this was
actually the first time I've been back to Chinatown since last year's festival. It rained for most of the night before the
festival and I was a little worried about the weather for this day. In the end it turned out to be a perfect day for a parade
and festival. I arrived to the festival a little earlier than last year, so I was able to see a little more of what was going on,
but the main attraction was still the Golden Dragon Parade. There's definitely plenty to see here. I actually enjoy this
parade more than the Nisei Week parade. After the parade, I still stuck around to explore Chinatown a bit more and
check out a few more of the stage performances at the festival. It was a nice way to spend a February afternoon.
Whether I'll visit Chinatown again until next year's Chinese New Year festival is another story.
