For the past few years, I've gone to the Lunar New Year festivities in Chinatown in downtown Los Angeles. As part of the
celebration, local television station KSCI-TV put on a festival to go along with the parade and other events. This year, KSCI-TV
brought this festival to Charles Wilson Park in Torrance, CA. I didn't mind since this was much closer to where I live. The day
started out with some fairly heavy rain, which turned some areas of the park into a muddy mess, but later in the afternoon, the
sun came out and the attendance for the festival turned out to be decent. It was the typical TV station festival, which is almost
identical to the Harvest Moon Festival that is held later in the year. Entertainment is always pretty good at these events.
Two weeks later, I attended the Lunar New Year celebration in Chinatown. It didn't seem the same without this festival, although
there was a much smaller festival on the north side of Chinatown. I took a few photos there, but they were more personal
photos than event coverage. Each event was fun in its own way.
