The Harvest Moon Festival in Arcadia is a very popular event organized by local television station
KSCI-TV, which airs a variety of Asian-language programs. While the Harvest Moon Festival is mostly
celebrated in China, this festival includes entertainment from many countries of Eastern Asia. This is
the 13th year for this festival and it's the third consecutive year that I've attended. It has become one of
my favorite cultural festivals of the year.
There's a little something for everybody at this festival. As you walk past the various booths at this
festival, you notice long lines of people waiting to get free samples of various items. Corporate
sponsors are very important to the success of this festival. On the entertainment side, there are always
a wide variety of performances ranging from traditional Asian dances and music to modern and
contemporary Asian and Asian-American acts. For a single-day event, it has a lot to offer and that's
what will keep me coming back year after year.
